F-gas certification — a genuine compliance point
Refrigerant handling is regulated under the EU F-Gas Regulation (currently Regulation (EU) 2024/573), enforced in Malta via the MCCAA. Technicians and companies handling fluorinated gases — found in nearly all AC and refrigeration equipment — must hold F-gas certification, and suppliers may only sell F-gas to certified holders.
It is reasonable for a customer to ask an installer for proof of F-gas certification before work begins; showing the certification reference on the invoice is a straightforward way to demonstrate compliance.
