Landscaping invoice generator for Belgium

Create a Belgian landscaping, gardening or garden-maintenance invoice for mowing, pruning, planting, hedge trimming, lawn care, irrigation, green waste, materials, recurring visits and VAT treatment.

Belgian landscaping invoices should identify the garden or site, service period, visit count, plants, labour, materials, equipment and green-waste handling. They should also keep the VAT split visible where living plants qualify for 6% and labour or ordinary garden work remains at 21%.

What a Belgian landscaping invoice should include

  • Landscaping business name, address, enterprise/VAT number and payment details.
  • Customer, billing address, garden or site address and site contact.
  • Service date or period, visit count, route, quote or maintenance-contract reference.
  • Mowing, pruning, hedge trimming, planting, lawn care, irrigation, seasonal cleanup and green-waste removal separately.
  • Plants, turf, trees, shrubs, soil, mulch, compost, equipment and labour on their own lines.
  • VAT rate, plant/labour split, reverse-charge wording where relevant and payment terms.

Plants at 6%, works at 21%

The 27 February 2019 Belgian law extended the 6% VAT rate to certain living plants and flowers supplied with garden construction or maintenance. Ordinary garden labour, maintenance and landscaping work generally starts from 21%.

Keep plants and labour separate on the invoice. If plants, work, materials and disposal are combined into one unclear amount, the invoice is harder to review and the higher treatment can apply to the combined charge.

B2B reverse charge and recurring maintenance

For B2B work in immovable property, reverse charge can apply when the customer files periodic VAT returns. Separate plants, labour, equipment, green waste and materials so the customer can apply the correct treatment.

For monthly or seasonal garden maintenance, show the service period, visit count and included tasks. Add extra planting, pruning, irrigation repairs, disposal or one-off cleanup separately.

Common Belgian landscaping invoice mistakes

  • Not showing the garden or service address.
  • Billing a monthly maintenance route without the period or visit count.
  • Mixing plants, labour, soil, mulch, equipment and green waste in one line.
  • Applying 6% to the whole invoice because plants were supplied.
  • Forgetting reverse-charge wording for eligible B2B immovable-property work.
