Freight invoice generator for Belgian carriers and logistics teams
Create a Belgian freight invoice for carriers, freight forwarders, brokers and logistics providers billing linehaul, fuel surcharge, handling, storage, customs documentation, detention, demurrage and delivery charges.
Belgian freight invoices need shipment evidence and clear VAT treatment. The payer may need the CMR, BOL, AWB, shipment reference, origin, destination, weight, accessorial authorization and domestic or international VAT note before approving payment.
What a Belgian freight invoice should include
- Carrier, forwarder, broker or logistics provider name, enterprise/VAT number and payment details.
- Bill-to payer, shipper, consignee, customs broker, third-party payer, PO or job reference.
- CMR, BOL, AWB, shipment, container, load, tracking or rate-confirmation reference.
- Pickup and delivery dates, origin, destination, route, mode and delivery terms.
- Pieces, pallets, cartons, weight, dimensions, commodity or freight description.
- Linehaul, fuel surcharge, detention, demurrage, storage, documentation, liftgate, customs and delivery fees separately.
- Belgian VAT, reverse-charge or international-transport exemption note where relevant.
Belgian VAT on domestic and international freight
Belgian domestic freight services generally start from the 21% VAT rate. International freight, export-related services or cross-border B2B services can be exempt, zero-rated or reverse charged depending on the route, customer status and evidence.
Do not blend a domestic taxable delivery with an international movement on one generic tax line. Split the route, mode and accessorials so the VAT treatment follows the shipment file.
CMR, accessorials and customs references
Belgian Mobility guidance says the CMR consignment note is generally used for both national and international goods transport and must include the prescribed details; multiple originals accompany the shipment and carrier records.
Keep detention, demurrage, storage, customs documentation, re-delivery, liftgate and waiting-time charges separate but tied to the same shipment or CMR reference.
Freight invoice vs commercial invoice
Use this page to bill the transport or logistics service. Use the commercial invoice generator when the document must describe goods, value, origin, HS/CN code and Incoterms for customs clearance.
