How to use a UK roofing invoice template
A roofing invoice template should preserve the scope and property details that matter after the job: roof area, roof type, materials, access, disposal and warranty.
Use it for roof repairs, tear-off and replacement, flat roofing, pitched roofing, gutters, insulation and standalone roofing jobs.
Fields to keep in the template
- Roofer or company details, VAT number if registered and payment terms.
- Customer, billing address and property address.
- Roof type, roof material, roof area and quote or job reference.
- Scaffolding, tear-off, deck repair, underlay, membrane, tiles, slates, flashing, gutters and disposal separately.
- Waste-carrier or disposal note where relevant.
- Material warranty and workmanship warranty separately.
- CIS and VAT domestic reverse-charge wording where applicable.
Safety and waste records
HSE says roof work must be planned and controlled because even short roof jobs are high risk. GOV.UK also says waste carriers, brokers and dealers must register where their business transports, disposes of or arranges waste.
VAT and CIS
Ordinary roof repairs are usually standard-rated for VAT when supplied by a VAT-registered roofer. Construction-chain roofing may need CIS and domestic reverse-charge wording. Roof insulation may need separate VAT review under energy-saving-material rules.
FAQs about UK roofing invoice templates
Should roof area be included?
Yes. Roof area helps explain material quantities, labour scope and warranty records.
Should scaffolding be itemised?
Yes. Access and scaffolding are significant roofing costs and should not be hidden inside a generic labour line.
Can this template handle CIS?
Yes. Keep CIS and reverse-charge fields available for construction-chain work, but do not use them on ordinary homeowner jobs unless they apply.
