How to use a Gibraltar utility invoice template
A utility re-billing template should show the billing period, meter readings, allocation method and prepayments deducted. Gibraltar has no VAT, so electricity/water re-billing carries no tax line.
Fields to keep in the template
- Billing period and meter readings (in the line description).
- Allocation method and prepayments deducted — no VAT line.
Who supplies electricity and water
Electricity is supplied by the Gibraltar Electricity Authority (GEA) and water by AquaGib (100% government-owned since December 2024) — not regulated by the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority, which covers telecoms/broadcasting/postal instead.
FAQs about Gibraltar utility invoice templates
Should this template include a VAT field?
No. Gibraltar has no VAT, and electricity generated locally (plus the LNG used to generate it) is also specifically exempted from the 2026 Transaction Tax.
Does the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority set electricity or water prices?
No. The GEA (electricity) and AquaGib (water) sit directly under HM Government of Gibraltar, outside the GRA's remit.
