Dental invoice generator for Belgium
Create a Belgian dental invoice or fee note for private dentistry, hygiene, orthodontics, oral surgery, crowns, dentures, implants, X-rays, patient payments and reimbursement support.
Belgian dental invoices should be clear enough for the patient, mutuality or insurer while avoiding unnecessary clinical narrative. Include the dentist, patient, service date, tooth or treatment detail, INAMI/RIZIV context, payment and VAT-exemption wording where applicable.
What a Belgian dental invoice should include
- Dental practice name, address, contact details and payment details.
- Treating dentist, specialist or hygienist and INAMI/RIZIV number where relevant.
- Patient name, service date, invoice date and optional patient or insurer reference.
- Tooth number, arch, treatment code, nomenclature code or concise procedure description.
- Examination, hygiene, filling, crown, extraction, orthodontic visit, implant, denture, X-ray or lab fee on separate lines.
- Patient payment, insurer or mutuality payment, balance due and reimbursement note.
- VAT-exempt wording for therapeutic dental care; taxable treatment kept separate.
VAT exemption for dental care
FPS Finance lists non-aesthetic medical activities by dentists among common Article 44 VAT exemptions. Since the 2022 medical VAT reform, the exemption is tied to therapeutic purpose, while treatments with no therapeutic purpose, including purely aesthetic services, can be taxable.
Keep cosmetic-only whitening, products, admin fees or non-therapeutic services separate from therapeutic dental care so VAT status can be reviewed line by line.
INAMI/RIZIV and reimbursement detail
INAMI/RIZIV publishes dental nomenclature and dentist tariff information for reimbursable care. Add the code, tooth and treatment date when the patient, mutuality or insurer needs those details.
Since 1 September 2025, eAttest is compulsory for doctors and dentists except in limited situations. A PDF invoice can support patient communication, but it does not replace required attestation or reimbursement workflows.
Privacy and patient-facing wording
A dental invoice may be shared outside the practice. Use concise billing descriptions and avoid full chart notes unless the payer process truly requires them.
