How to make a logo for an Australian trade or small business
Search "tradie logo" in Australia and you mostly find design agencies quoting a few hundred dollars, or global tools that have never heard the word. This one is built for the vernacular: templates organised by trade, sized for a ute door, and free to download as a real vector file with no account.
Edit it here on the page. Type your name, check it on the ute and hi-vis mockups, download the SVG. No signup, no watermark, no trial.
Built for tradies, not translated for them
The category list uses Australian trade names and licensing reality — sparkies, chippies, concreters, smash repairs, roadworthy inspections — rather than a US or UK list with the spelling changed. Icons and palettes are filtered per trade, so a concreter and a hairdresser do not get the same grid.
- Pick your trade from the list, or search it.
- Type your business name; the layout re-fits rather than clipping long names.
- Tap any template in the grid to switch looks — your name and colours carry across.
- Check the ute-door and hi-vis mockups before you commit.
- Download the SVG free, or the full kit with transparent PNGs, favicon and social sizes.
Design for the ute first
For most Australian trades the vehicle is the main advertising channel, and it is read at distance and at speed. That means one clear mark, a big legible name and a phone number — not a detailed illustration. The van-door mockup on this page shows you exactly how your logo will read on a panel before you pay a signage shop.
- Hi-vis workwear is a hard constraint: your mark has to hold up embroidered on yellow or orange, not just on white.
- Safety yellow and orange are naturally on-brand for trades here — used as accents rather than the whole identity.
- If you are licensed, leave room beside the logo for your licence number; some states require it on advertising.
Free, including the vector file
No account, no email, no watermark, and no paid tier hiding the SVG. You get the vector master, transparent PNGs at five sizes, a favicon, an Apple touch icon and social canvases, in one ZIP.
