Feet to cm

To convert feet (and optionally inches) to centimetres:

cm = feet × 30.48

For feet and inches: convert inches to feet first (divide by 12), then multiply total by 30.48.

• 5 ft × 30.48 = 152.4 cm
• 5 ft 9 in = 5.75 ft × 30.48 = 175.3 cm
• 6 ft × 30.48 = 182.88 cm

Use this when entering height on Australian medical or fitness forms, or when comparing heights given in feet (as in US or UK media) to your own metric-based understanding. Australian building plans are in metric; when a US-origin specification gives ceiling height in feet, convert to cm for comparison.
